Villa Information Pack - Smoke Detectors and Fire

Our vacation home is by code equipped with smoke detectors and all batteries are changed every six months to ensure they work always 100%.

Cooking fire:
If you hear the alarm sound due to burning toast or as a result of other cooking at the stove and you are secure in the knowledge that there is no other reason for their sounding, then the smoker detector may be switched off by tripping the respective fuses in the fuse box located on the wall in the garage. After about ten minutes please remember to switch the power on again by the same method.

Genuine fire:
In case that there is a genuine fire in the house use the fire extinguisher provided. Remember never to use water on a grease or electrical fire and do have a pot lid around when cooking in case you have to smother a grease fire.

Important tips:
And most important of all is don't cause a fire! Most fires are caused by oversight. Always follow any provided appliance instruction.
