Villa Information Pack - Villa Information
We have tried to cover as many items as possible
in this section. Should you have any other question or need some extra
information please do let us know and we will endeavour to answer you
as quickly as possible.
Air conditioning:
The system is fully automatic and was pre-set by the company for your
comfort. You should not need to change the settings, as you will be comfortable
with the AC set to 75 degrees in all weather conditions. If you set the
AC bellow this temperature, then the unit may overload and the AC unit
may freeze. If this happens, an engineer will need to call and fix the
AC unit and all costs associated with such a call out will be your responsibility.
For the air conditioning to operate correctly, it is imperative that all
windows, sliding patio doors and outside doors are closed. As our home
is fitted with an automatic cut-out unit, then the AC will switch off
whenever the patio door is opened.
Appliances:
For your comfort our Homes are fully equipped with modern appliances.
They are very straightforward and easy to operate. For your convenience,
you should find the instructions manual in one of the Kitchen drawers.
American appliances are different from European appliances so please call
our Cast Member if you are unsure how to operate any of the equipment.
- Dishwasher - Please make sure that you carefully load the dishwasher.
Correctly stack all plates and cups and glasses to avoid breakage and
charges to your security deposit. Be sure that cutlery does not rest
on the base of the dishwasher as it could cause severe damage. Only
use "automatic dishwasher" powder or liquid. Use of ordinary
washing liquid or for hand easing dishes will result in a costly (to
you) repair and possible flooding of the Kitchen with suds. If you are
unsure which detergent to use, please ask.
- Waste disposal - To correctly operate the waste disposal unit in the
sink, please run cold water before and during use. The power switch
is on the wall close to the sink. Do not clog the unit putting into
it items such as banana skins, onions, cigarette ends, tea bags, celery,
bones, metal, plastic, string, corn husks, leaves or anything made of
glass and never operate the waste disposal unit for longer than 20 seconds
at a time. Please be careful and adhere to the instructions, as the
cost of any repairs due to misuse will be deduct from your security
deposit. And never, ever attempt to put your hands, fingers or any object
inside the waste disposal while it is in operation. If an item needs
to be retrieved from inside the unit, switch off first. If after clearing
a blockage the unit does not operate, press the reset button on the
underside of the disposal cylinder underneath the sink. If the problem
persist, please place any food waste into a bin-liner temporarily, and
call for assistance the next working day.
- Microwave - There is a microwave unit in the Kitchen. Please do not
operate the microwave when it is empty or put any metal objects in.
Only insert microwave safe food dish and check that the time you have
set is correct for the cooking you are doing.
- Stove / cooker - To use the required ring, push in the knob and turn
it to the desired temperature strength. To use the oven, select bake,
which activates the bottom element. Select the desired temperature.
To grill, turn the selector Knob to broil, select the desire temperature
and leave the oven door ajar. For safety, ensure that no pan handles
are facing outward and remove all items, once cooled, from the top of
the stove when no longer in use. The ceramic top must be cleaned only
with appropriate ceramic liquid. Can't be brushed nor scratched. You
can clean the top range with detergent and paper towel.
- Refrigerator - This is a pre-set at the maximum efficiency setting
so please do not adjust the switch. The fridge will have an automatic
icemaker in the freezer compartment. To turn on, press the lever down.
Once you have sufficient ice, lift the lever up.
- Washer and dryer - Please do not overload the washing machines or
dryer as this may cause them to stop working or damage.
Electronics:
Television - Our home is supplied with at 5 TVs. All of them has remote
control and are working perfectly. Please always use the remote control
when you want to watch TV. And please don't take the batteries of the
remote control to use anywhere else.
- Video / DVD - In the event of a malfunction, attempt to force a tape
either into or out of the unit can cause severe damage. Please note
that European type Pal-System tapes will not operate in any of our VCRs
as we have type NTSC - System.
- Stereo system - For your comfort our home has a stereo system. Please
don't move it out or away from its current location. And under no circumstances
may it be taken out of the house.
- Sony playstation 2 - There is a playstation in bedroom 4 for your
use.
Cable TV:
Your vacation home is supplied with cable television from Adelphia. Please
see the separate sheet near TV for details of all the channels fed into
the cable in the Kissimmee area. The number of channels in our villa is
100. If your picture is entirely snowy it is possible that the cable service
has been interrupted due to construction work in the area, thunderstorms,
etc. The cable company normally restores the service very quickly, but
sometimes it may take a day or two for them to correct the problem.
Electricity:
Voltage in your vacation home including all outlets is 110 volts. Be sure
to use the correct settings on your travel appliances, which must be dual
voltage. If you need a plug adapter this can be purchased in store such
as K-Mart, Wal Mart and Walgreen's.
Light switches:
For our Guests visiting from Europe and another countries, you may notice
that the light switches work in reverse. On = Up and Off = Down . Also,
designated light switches in some rooms are directly wired to an electrical
socket. For example, if a table lamp is plugged into that socket, the
wall light will operate the lamp.
Water:
The water in Florida is quiet safe to drink but can taste slightly chlorinated
depending on location. If you prefer, bottled water is available at the
supermarkets and is also sold in refillable plastic containers. In the
home as a courtesy to us the owner, please don't leave water running unnecessarily
as the water supply is metered and expensive. Thank You!
Supplies:
Although you may find initial small quantities of household supplies such
as dishwashing powder, washing-up liquid, paper rolls, washing powder,
scouring pads, garbage bags, etc., in your vacation home, these items
are not as a rule supplied and one therefore the responsibility of the
renters to obtain. At the end of your stay, please do not throw any such
supplies away as the next incoming Guests will appreciate the start. Replacement
light bulbs are our responsibility and you will find some extras in the
pantry.
Bathrooms:
Some of our bathrooms have a built in extractor fan, which for your comfort
we recommend that you turn it on at all times you are using the bathroom.
The taps and shower control can be difficult to use at first if you are
not familiar with the American way. Please either pull the central knob
upwards or towards you and then turn to the left or right to vary the
water temperature. To control the shower in our main bathroom when the
bathtub and shower are combined, first locate the round fitting under
the tap and then pull it down. The water pressure will then transfer to
the shower.
Toilets:
It is very important that you do not try to flush anything other than
toilet tissue down the toilet. The pipes on toilets in Florida are narrow
by design, and will block! Therefore to avoid blockages and possible overflows,
please do not flush any of the following products down the toilet: baby
wipes, cotton wool, diapers (napes), personal hygiene products, sanitary
towels, paper towels and plastic wrappers. If the system appears to be
blocked please try and tear it with a plunger, which is supplied in the
home and located in the master bathroom cabinet. In case the plunger doesn't
work please call our management company at (407) 391-3295. Please note
that the cost of calling a plumber due to misuse will be charged to your
security deposit.
Furniture:
Never move furniture in your home. It has been carefully placed where
it is for a reason. If you move it, damage may occur, and the cost will
be charged against your security deposit. Our cleaning personnel are not
furniture movers, and cannot move beds, sofas, tables and chairs back
into the correct position after your stay. Regrettably, if we find that
furniture has been moved during your stay, then a charge will be levied
against your security deposit to cover the cost of a call out to reposition
the furniture. If any damage occurs while the furniture is being taken
back to its original place, the cost of repair or replacement will be
chargeable.
Mattress:
Mattresses were made for sleeping and rest not to be used as a toy. Because
they are soft some kids and even adults think to use them as a toy. Please
talk with all in your party and let them know that use mattress as a toy
can cause a serious accident or even break the mattress coils and this
will be deducted from your security deposit.
Vertical blinds:
Vertical Blinds are quite delicate! To operate them, first open them up
by pulling on the chain which can be found at one end. Secondly, pull
on the cord which will slide them along the transverse rod. Never use
force or you can damage the blinds. Its a good idea when leaving the home,
to close all the blinds to help keep the house as cool as possible.
Candles:
In some rooms of our homes you will find decorative candles. They are
there only for decoration purpose and should not be lighted on for any
reason. In case there is a power outage you will find in the kitchen's
pantry a flashlight, so candles should never be used. In case you use
them we will deduct it from your security deposit.
Beach towels:
For our Guests comfort we provide Beach Towels that should be use only
in our pool and inside the home if needed. We would respectfully ask you
not to take any of our towels from the house to the beach and water parks.
Thank You!
