Villa Information Pack - Pool and Deck Area

Our home has a pool and there is some points that we need to bring to your attention.

Pool controls:

Our pool maintenance staff regularly maintains the pool and its controls. The filler system and pump is set to work automatically - without Guest intervention. Guest must never alter or tamper with the controls for the pool. If you are experience any problems with the pool during your stay, please contact our management company at 407 931 3295 and they will be very happy to help. Any damages resulting from tampering with the pool equipment will be deducted from your security deposit.

Pool cleaning and maintenance:
The quality of the pool water is the responsibility of our licensed and insured pool contractor and he will visit on a weekly basis, so please don't be alarmed if you see a technician suddenly appear in your pool area. Also keep in mind that if you lock the screen doors during the day you will deny access to the pool area and delay any cleaning or necessary chemical additions to Keep the pool healthy.
The pool contractor will check the pool chemical balance and controls and will add any necessary chemicals to ensure its cleanliness and to clean the pool deck and furnishings. It may be necessary that Guests to stay out of the pool while the chemicals dilute in the pool (approximately 1-2 hours). This inconvenience is regrettable, but it is for your safety. Although screened, the pool is an outdoor facility and will get small quantities of dirt, debris and small insects within it. Please either brush debris toward/into the pool drain near the deep end of the pool, or skim the surface with the net provided to remove debris.

Pool floats and toys:
Our Guests will find some very nice floats and toys available for fun in the sun. We kindly ask that the use of these items is supervised by adults and that they are returned at the same condition it was found. We also remember that float were made to be used inside the pool and never outside the water. In case any damage happens to the floats or toys of bad use the price will be deducted from your security deposit.
Pool heating:
Our Villa offers Electric Pool Heater. If you have paid for this extra, the heater will be set to come on in the morning and go off again in the evening. Please make sure that you follow the instructions regarding the pool blanket bellow, as pool heater will only be effective if the pool blanket is laid over the pool water each night. Never attempt to turn off, turn on, or adjust the temperature of the pool heating yourself. Electric Pool Heater cannot operate if the air temperature fails bellow 50 degrees. Always call our management company at 407 931 3295 if there is a problem with the pool heater. Damages or additional costs caused by too high a setting will be charged against your security deposit.

Pool cover:
A pool cover is used to retain heat within the pool water between the months of October though April. If you have asked for pool heater our homes are equipped with a pool cover or blanket, and we ask that you use it when the pool is not in use - especially overnight. By not using the blanket, the pool will lose its heat and will be cold next time you use it. The blanket should be placed, bubble side down, on top of the water. By using the blanket, the pool will retain its heat and will be warmed for your use. Always store the pool blanket on the deck while its not being used. Never leave the blanket in the pool when swimming or swim in the pool with the blanket in place.

Pool deck area:
Its important that you maintain the pool deck with same care you will treat our home. Glass when broken is dangerous, impossible to locate and can be dangerous. Please use only plastic in the pool area. Also coins and other metals (such as hair clips) can rust and stain overnight. Rust cannot be removed without causing damage to the pool deck. Gum and rubber (such as burst balloons) will bake on the hot deck and also cannot be removed.
You can enjoy eating out on the pool deck and we hope you do, but please remember that BBQ Grills will leave grease and any morsels left behind will attract the local insect population.

Patio furniture:
Patio Furniture is provided in our Home. Please use them with responsibility and do not move them outside the patio/screen area.

Pool and kids:
If you do not have a pool at home, please understand that, although wonderful to have, swimming pool accidents result in the largest single cause of death of children in the state of Florida. It only takes a few seconds for small child to run, or a baby to crawl from the house and fall into the pool. Make it a house rule to never leave the patio door open if no adults from your party are in close attendance at the pool. Children must not, under any circumstances, be left unattended in the pool area.

Pool responsibility:
It is a condition of you and your party using this pool that its use is strictly at your own risk. It is a condition of renting this property that you accept that neither us the owner nor our management company can be held responsible for any accident, injury or illness sustained whilst staying at our property.
Pool rules:

  • Never dive into the pool. The pool is not designed for diving, and is not deep enough. You risk personal injury if you ignore this warning.
  • Don't jump into the pool when others are swimming.
  • No Running around the deck. It can be slippery and cause an accident.
  • Remove all floating devices, toys and, etc., from the pool after swimming so that the filter system does not get clogged.
  • Do not allow soap or shampoo into the pool. They are harmful to the water quality and will involve a complete shut down of the system before it can be used again. Do not enter the pool with sun tan oil on as the water surface will become unpleasantly smeary. After swim, dry off completely before entering the house.
  • All children and non-swimmers must be observed and supervised by a responsible adults swimmer at all times.
  • Never swim with a pool cover partially in place as it is possible to become trapped beneath it and drowning is extremely high. Remove the cover completely before using the pool.
  • Ensure that children leave the pool to visit bathroom.
  • Don't take glassware into the pool area or deck for any reason or at any time! Glass and concrete don't mix - and the damage that can be caused is both painful and very costly. There will be plastic glasses/beakers for your use in the pool area.
